The Azure Collection embraces both classicism and sensuality and exhibits unparalleled quality. All of the frames in the Azure are made of Grade A, FSC-certified kiln-dried maple; and all upholstery pieces are stabilized with steel corrugated straps encased in cardboard and ply grips to hold the strapping to the frame to prevent sagging. Hand-knotted, eight-way handtied spring decks are stabilized with steel rods in most of our upholstery pieces. Individually wrapped American-made cotton springs are also part of the infrastructure, each encased in down. Cushions are crowned in a 95/5 down/feather blend. Custom finishes are available on most pieces and production time runs 12 to 14 weeks.

The Hout Bay Sofa, named for a coastal town on the Atlantic seaboard of South Africa, cradles the body as dreamily as the rocky coastline cups the azure African waters. So roomy, the down-filled masterpiece with sloping arms and back is a marvel to rest into. The ample sofa changes its personality each time the material covering it is altered. The sofa is available in 3 sizes and each includes 3 large back support and 3 kidney pillows. One of the key construction features of the Azure includes frames made of Grade A, FSC-certified kiln-dried maple. Dacron and cotton underlay fabric cut from handmade templates for the arms.

Overlooking the rocky coastline of Cape Town is Bantry Bay, an affluent suburb of the South African town situated on the slopes of Lion’s Head mountain. The chair that takes its name from this secluded area has similar properties in its ability to offer a sheltering comfort to the body. The chair includes an accent pillow [COM 8yd (7m)]. All of Bruce Andrews upholstery is underpinned by steel corrugated straps encased in cardboard and ply grips to hold the strapping to the frame to prevent sagging. Cushions are crowned in a 95/5 organic down/feather blend.

The cusp of coastline along Noord Hoek in Cape Town has a sliver of beach covered in crystalline sands that delineates land and water. The chair inspired by this shoreline onto which South Africa’s azure waves tumble has an architectonic wooden frame with a faint crescent shape that calls this seaside retreat to mind. It includes a 4” circular accent pillow [COM 4.75yd (4.5m)]. As with all of our upholstery, this piece has hand-knotted, eight-way handtied spring decks that are stabilized with steel rods. As with all of our upholstered pieces, if fabrics are not above a 15,000 double rub-count, we back them to insure longevity. our patterns are chalk-marked and hand-cut for seamless matching, the four-way flow ensuring that our repeats are exact.
