When we speak of heritage here at Bruce Andrews Design, there are varied aspects of it that go into our products.
Focusing on Heritage
For instance, a number of our bespoke collections were inspired by countries to which our founder, Bruce Andrews, has familial ties. The Collection Skye came about from memories of his grandfather’s study on the Isle of Skye in Scotland, the gentlemanly retreat an early example of refined taste. And the Azure and Dune Collections were born of his South African heritage, the vast continent and its southern coastline inspiring the fabrics and the lines of the luxury furniture.
Other notes of heritage we’ve featured here on the Bruce Andrews Design Journal include the Morgan Motor Company’s focus on the traditions of its brand; Pringle of Scotland’s dedication to edgy traditionalism; the Manus x Machina exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which traces the hand- and machine-made couture fashion throughout history; and the dedication to quality held by the renowned Limoges porcelain company Bernardaud.
